Mailchimp (EN)

The Mailchimp link allows you to synchronize data between Squeezely and the Email Service Provider (ESP) Mailchimp. Through the link audiences, profiles and triggers from Squeezely can be sent to Mailchimp.

Implementation

For implementing the Mailchimp link:

By completing the full implementation, one-time email addresses and newsletter consents are synchronized between Mailchimp and Squeezely. After establishing the link, the following data will be synchronized:

  • Email addresses: new email addresses will be synchronized real time from Squeezely to Mailchimp, new email addresses with newsletter consent will be synchronized daily from Mailchimp to Squeezely

  • Consent: changes of newsletterconsent are synchronized real time from Squeezely to Mailchimp, from Mailchimp to Squeezely changes are synchronized daily.

Audiences & Profiles

In the Audience Builder you can send Audiences to Mailchimp by checking Mailchimp as Channel:

For the audience, Squeezely updates the following information in Mailchimp:

  • In Profiles: the audience will be visible as a tag in the profiles

In Mailchimp, you can view the tags of a profile as follows:

  • In Mailchimp, go to All Contacts

  • Search the desired contact

  • On the right side, view the tags:

  • In tags: the tag will be visible in the overview of tags

In Mailchimp, you can view the existing tags as follows:

  • In Mailchimp, go to Tags

  • View the tags:

Triggers & Product Sets

In the Journey Builder, you can send triggers to Mailchimp using the Email trigger:

In the Email trigger, you can set the following:

  • Trigger: the automation in Mailchimp

A trigger is only visible in the Journey Builder when it has been created in Mailchimp.

https://squeezely.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SG/pages/2660827146

In Squeezely, you can see the status of the trigger as follows:

  • In Squeezely, go to 360° Profiles

  • Find the profile that has reached the email trigger in the journey

  • Go to 'Automations' in the profile

  • In this overview you will see the following:

    • Created at: the time when the trigger was created

    • Contact id: the ID of the profile in question

    • Campaign/Journey ID: the ID of the relevant journey

    • Buffer endtime: the time when the trigger was sent to Mailjet

    • Handled: whether the trigger has been handled in Squeezely

    • Sent: whether the trigger has been sent to Mailjet

    • Channel: the channel that was triggered

Due to limitations of Mailchimp's API, you can only send an email address once per automation and you have to create a new automation if you want to address that user again from the email node.

A product set can be incorporated in a trigger based email using an Email HTML Snippet.

The Email HTML Snippet can be processed in an email as follows:

First of all, check via a request in the Help Center whether the option Email recommendation images enabled is activated

  • Save the variant

  • Give the personalization a name and save the personalization

  • Open the personalization again and click on the variant

  • Click on 'Get email HTML snippet'.

  • Copy the HTML

  • Replace all references of {email} in the HTML code in *|EMAIL_HASH|*.

  • In Mailchimp go to the design of an email

  • Add in the email the block 'Code'

  • Paste as code the email HTML snippet:

  • Click on Save & Close and then on Start Sending
