With the Google Analytics 4 connection you can forward data from Squeezely to Google Analytics. Events from Squeezely can be sent to Google Analytics via the connector.

Implementatie

To implement the Google Analytics 4 connector:

  1. Go to Google Analytics in Squeezely

  2. Check 'Google analytics event forwarding enabled'

  3. Under the Google Tag ID, enter the measurement ID of the Google Analytics account to connect

You can find the measurement ID in Google Analytics by going to Data Streams and the details of your Data Stream

  1. Check all GA4 statistic events and 'show names of personalizations in events'

✅ The connection is completed.

Events

In Google Analytics you can report events as follows:

  • In the Google Analytics property, go to Explore

  • Create a blank exploration

  • Click on dimensions and add Event name:

  • Click on Metrics and add Event count:

  • Drag Event name to the 'columns' box and event count to 'Values'

You now have an overview of the events in Google Analytics.

An event is only visible a day later after it has been received in Google Analytics

Variants of personalizations

In Google Analytics you can report variations of personalizations as follows:

  • To the previous steps, add a filter on contains Personalization:

  • Go to Admin and click on Custom Dimensions

  • Click on 'Create custom dimension'

  • Add the variant name as a custom dimension

If 'show names of personalizations in events' is not checked, you cannot use a variant name in Google Analytics:

  • Also add the variant id as custom dimension

An event parameter is only visible a day later after receiving it in Google Analytics

  • Trigger a PersonalizationView event on the site

Please note: the event will only become visible once it has been received again in Google Analytics

  • Add the custom dimensions as extra dimensions and click on 'Import':

  • Add the Variant Name and Variant ID as dimension

You now have an overview of Personalization View and Personalization Click per variant.
